Job Purpose

The University has significant ambitions to expand its Alternative Modes of Delivery (AMD) portfolio and develop its technology enhanced learning capability through targeted investment and more effective use of existing resources to enable the University to realise some of the significant benefits for on campus (blended) learning and off campus teaching - ultimately enabling the University to exploit additional revenue streams and retain an advantage in an increasingly competitive distance and campus-based HE sector.

To meet the University’s aspirations for Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL), including the ability to develop its Educational Enterprise (EE) portfolio, an integrated support team has been created to provide a focal point through which to drive TEL and support the EE agenda, and a critical mass to facilitate achievement of the University’s objectives in this area. The team is based on an integrated ‘hub and spoke’ approach, which builds on the business partner model and comprises a small core team, located within CLAD & Learning Spaces, and e-learning professionals partnered in each of the five Colleges to provide a unified, consistent and coherent approach to TEL across the University.

The post holder will work alongside the embedded Instructional Design Consultant to develop capability and capacity for AMD within the College. The role will provide direct help and support for staff within the College, as well as helping to develop resources and learning objectives in support of the College’s strategic targets.
