The University of Southampton is seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Engagement Librarian to join the team within the Research Engagement Division of the University Library.
The team is led by the Associate Director (Research Engagement) and includes a Research Data Development Manager, an Open Access Development Manager, Research Engagement Librarians working with Faculties and metadata editors working with the CRIS and discovery landscape. The post is part-time based at the Hartley Library on the main Highfield campus.
In this role you will work closely with researchers and postgraduates to develop and deliver effective research services, often in partnership with other Professional Services and Faculties. You will enjoy teamwork and have the excellent interpersonal and negotiating skills needed to work with wide ranging communities and disciplines. You will have good knowledge of global scholarly communication policy and practice and be able to develop training and provide expert advice.
A commitment to the delivery and analysis of accurate evidence-based reporting will underpin your work. Experience of delivering services relating to open scholarship, data management and research metrics is desirable but not essential. You will be confident in the use of appropriate technologies and outward looking, with a desire to contribute to relevant communities of practice and foster cultural change.
