The Faculty of Economic Sciences at the Georg-August-University Göttingen and the GIGA German Institute of Global and Area Studies invite applications for a Junior Professorship in Development Economics or International Economics (salary commensurate with W1 BBesO)

to begin as soon as possible. The position is jointly offered for three years with the option to prolong for an additional three years.

Applicants will have an outstanding doctoral degree and an excellent publication record in international or development economics. The successful applicant will become a Research Fellow at the GIGA in Hamburg and contribute there to the research on development economics and/or international economics on Africa, Asia, Latin America, and/or the Middle East. It is expected that the incumbent contributes adequately to teaching within the economics Bachelor and Master programme as well as to the doctoral course programme and the Göttingen Graduate School of Social Sciences at the University of Göttingen.

Preconditions for appointment are laid down in § 30 of the Higher Education Law of Lower Saxony. As a Public Law Foundation, the University of Göttingen holds the right of appointment. Further details will be explained on inquiry.
