Research Technician – Physical Containment Level 3 Facility
Applications are invited for a research technician role in the PC3 facility in the Department of Molecular Medicine and Pathology.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and responsible individual to join an exciting research team focused on cutting edge research in in vivo infection models. The successful applicant will be involved in all aspects of research and support involving the PC3 facility.
Primary duties include:
- Performing experiments under the supervision of laboratory head
- Ordering supplies and equipment
- Equipment maintenance and organisation
- Maintaining and documenting lab cleanliness and safety standards
- Managing lab databases
- Training students
A strong background in molecular biology is desirable, and a genuine interest and knowledge of PC2 and PC3 laboratory processes is required. Experience working at PC3 and/or with in vivo models would be an advantage.
The candidate will have a BSc or higher degree and show that they can work independently with motivation, good organisational skills and a willingness to work as part of a team.
Professional Staff Level 4.
