Department of Surgery

Faculty of Medical & Health Sciences

The University of Auckland is New Zealand’s leading university.  We employ more than 5400 academic and professional staff to support over 41,000 students, making us one of NZ’s largest employers.

We are seeking to appoint a Research Nurse in the Department of Surgery to provide coordination and assistance with relevant clinical research studies.

The role

  • As well as using your research nursing skills to proactively manage trials and participants, you will develop and monitor processes for data collection and assist with ethical approval and institutional approval processes.
  • This includes coordinating participant recruitment, collecting participant data, monitoring the progress of studies, and assisting with the writing and designing of study documents including protocols, Case Report Forms (CRFs), and participant documents.
  • You’ll be a New Zealand-registered nurse with a current practicing certificate, and have experience and knowledge in clinical trials research and clinical trial approval processes in New Zealand.

For further information on this role, please view the attached position description.

Why us?

This role offers the opportunity to work in a stimulating and pioneering environment, where world-leading research is being conducted here and here alone.  With regular interaction with clinicians and scientists, you’ll be working with leaders in their fields on a daily basis, making a direct contribution to the sort of work that betters lives for people in New Zealand and around the world.

Plus, you can look forward to the generous benefits package offered to University staff members, which includes 5 weeks’ annual leave, more than 300 courses and workshops designed to support your professional development, and standout facilities for staff members who are also parents – no wonder we’ve just been voted New Zealand’s most attractive employer in education.*

Enquiries about the role should be directed to Mr. Scott Aitken, Manager Surgical Research Network, telephone +64 9 923 6929, email: s.aitken@auckland.ac.nz.  Please note all applications must be submitted online.

This is a full time, fixed term position for a duration of 18 months.  Professional Staff Level 5.

Applications close on Sunday 30th July 2017.

*Randstad Awards 2017.
