European Research Council funded Postdoctoral Research Associate working on the properties and applications of Mechanically Chiral Molecules
A Postdoctoral Research Associate position is available in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Southampton working with Dr Steve Goldup on an ERC funded project that combines aspects of Organic Synthesis andSupramolecular Chemistry to develop new applcations of mechanically chiral molecules, with a particular focus on their applications as catalysts, materials and sensors. The successful candidate will apply the group’s methodology for the synthesis of mechanically chiral molecules (J. Am. Chem. Soc., 2014, 136, 4817). In addition to carrying out research, the successful candidate will also liaise with industrial and academic partners and take a leadership role in the group.
Applications are invited from candidates having, or about to obtain a *PhD in chemistry, with a solid grounding in organic synthesis and supramolecular chemistry. Experience of laboratory organisation and management is a significant benefit.
