Job Details
The grant is linked to the Thematic Project "Lignin valorization in cellulosic ethanol plants: biocatalytic conversion via ferulic acid to high value chemicals," implemented under an agreement between FAPESP and the Research Councils of the United Kingdom (RCUK).
The project counts on the collaboration with Faculties of Unicamp and the National Center for Research in Energy and Materials, besides international partners from the University of Warwick, University of Manchester and University College London. The project aims to develop new biocatalytic methods for converting the lignocellulosic material into high-value chemical compounds.
The candidate will be involved in multidisciplinary activities, in direct interface with the areas of physical-chemical pretreatment and development of bioprocesses. Those interested should have a doctorate in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or related areas. The candidate is expected to have experience in molecular biology and genome modification techniques, chromatographic methods, and interpretation of transcriptome and proteome results.
Those interested should send a cover letter, curriculum vitae and two recommendations contacts to Fabio Squina.
The selected candidate will receive a post-doctoral fellowship from FAPESP of R$ 6,819.30 per month and Technical Reserve. The Technical Reserve of the PD grant is equivalent to 15% of the annual value of the scholarship and is intended to meet unforeseen expenses directly related to the research activity. If the student is residing at a different address and need to move to the city where the research institution is located, he/she may be entitled to a grant-installation.
