Job Details
You will have the opportunity for collaborative research, working as part of the successful Cohen Geochemistry Research Group within the Earth Surface Science Institute with a focus on stable isotope research.
This is part of an ongoing programme of research led by Professor Simon Bottrell and is funded for three years to provide research support for Professor Bottrell while he is Head of School. Current projects include NERC-funded research on paleo-hydrology and paleo-environmental reconstruction and installation of a new Isoprime Mass Spectrometer for low mass carbonate isotopic analysis. You will be a member of the Cohen Geochemistry Research Group and will be expected to contribute towards the vibrant research culture within the School of Earth and Environment. The role also includes a component of teaching support, providing the opportunity to build teaching, research, communication and project management skills.
Your qualifications and experience will include an honours degree and a PhD (or you will be close to obtaining) in a relevant discipline. Experience in light stable isotope analysis by gas-source mass spectrometry is essential. You will also show a strong commitment to publishing scientific results at an international level.
