JOB PURPOSE:

To direct the day to day operations of the Finishing department, act as the team Leader and to perform

the regular Finishing Duties as applicable. Job function includes disciplinary responsibilities for the

department as well as tracking absenteeism and PTO days. The Finishing Lead Operator is to prepare the

missing number list for each job and to assist in getting paper work ready for shipping.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Under the direction of the Production Manager, the Finishing Lead Operator will execute the set production schedule to meet customer order needs. The essential functions are:
  •  Communicate daily the status of rush orders and/or delayed orders to the Production Manager.
  •  Manage Finishing operations to ensure proper quality and production controls are followed.
  •  Instruct and oversees employee safety, quality and operational training to ensure all duties are performed efficiently and effectively.
  •  Manage personnel to meet labor and material standards. Held responsible for identifying labor and material improvements to reduce labor and material waste.
  •  Assign work to meet production schedules.
  •  Maintain good employee relations and proper application of employee relations policies; familiarizes personnel with company rules and regulations, administers policies, and disciplinary procedures.
  •  Arrange for proper maintenance of machines and equipment. Assists line personnel and maintenance to troubleshoot underperforming operations. Recommends improvements in equipment and processes.
  •  Assure compliance with safety and health regulations and good housekeeping practices within assigned areas, as well as compliance with all quality specifications.
  •  Maintain all required documentation of work performed and ensure that all forms and materials are labeled properly.
  •  Interpret, initiate action on reports, and prepare required reports.
  •  Make or assign the necessary repairs to the forms generated from the collator department.
  •  Fold and restack forms for wrapping.
  •  Apply label to each package before it is placed into the shipping cartons to be sent to the customers.
  • Maintain all required documentation of their work performed and all proper labeling of all materials and product.
  •  Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  •  Maintain compliance with all customer and cGMP regulatory requirements.
