Research & Development Manager, UV Inkjet Coatings, Frankfurt

A challenging and exciting opportunity has recently become available as Research & Development Manager in the field of UV and Water-borne coatings systems near Frankfurt. With responsibility for leading a team of 5 people and overseeing borth strategic research and customer focused development, it's a position where you can have an impact on the mid-long term technologies coming through the business whilst gaining a strong knowledge-base of the industrial coatings market.

Your role will include a strong element of people management as the company grow through a phase of growth and will require you to train and develop your team to give them the necessary skills to be successful in the future as well as to map out progression plans for each team member in collaboration with other internal managers. In addition, you will collaborate with the R&D Director in long-term hiring meetings so you will get a much more strategic overview of management that gives you the right skills to move into senior manager roles in the long-term future.

The company you will be working for are currently developing a novel UV coating system for industrial applications which is printable using digital inkjet printing processes. It's a niche system which is really gaining ground in the industry at the moment because of the huge range of applications it can be used for, so you'll be in regular contact with technologies that are changing the face of the coatings market and are set to do so for the next 5-10 years.

Requirements:

• Qualification as Lackingenieur or Chemieingenieur
• 5+ years experience in Research & Development
• Hands-on experience in formulations development of UV coating systems
• Proven experience in a team/group lead position with good people management capabilities
• Languages: German at B2-C2 level required for daily use; comfort in English speaking preferred
