A new opportunity to step into the role of Flexographic Inks Developer has recently opened up with a global company that specialise in Printing Inks & Industrial Coatings. The company have their main site for Printing Inks in Nürnberg where they conduct all Research & Development activities including re-development of existing product lines and the development of next generation technologies for flexographic printing, so you will be at the heart of innovation in the company, allowing you to gain industry-leading technical knowledge and expertise.

The company you will be working for are a German family-owned business with over 1,000 staff and 10 operations centers worldwide, so they are an internationally recognised company with a strong brand-reputation, meaning that working for them is a great way to build your employment profile and make yourself a desirable candidate amongst competitors in the industry.

Most of your time (80%) will be spent in the laboratory developing new formulations but you will also spend some of your time (20%) on-site with customers providing applications support and testing with the Applications Team, so you will get the chance to develop customer service experience as part of your role which will allow you to move into other business areas (Technical Service, Technical Sales) in the future if you want to change course.

You will be stepping into a team of 15 people with 5 employees specialising in development and the other 10 employees focusing on Colorimetry and Applications Support. The developers they have are still quite junior with an average age of 30 years old, so it is a young, dynamic environment with people who are still developing their own technical expertise, allowing you to learn alongside them whilst you develop your own knowledge and skills.

Requirements:

• Qualification as Lacklaborant/Lacktechniker/Lackingenieur
• 2+ years experience in Research & Development
• Hands-on experience in formulations development of water-borne printing inks
• Knowledge of flexographic printing applications preferred but not essential
• Languages: German at B2-C2 level required for daily use; comfort in English speaking preferred
