Job Details

Based in the Department of Aerospace Engineering, the Bristol Composites Institute (ACCIS) and the Wind Blade Research Hub (WBRH), you will carry out fundamental research on aspects of composite materials and/or composite manufacturing for wind turbine blade structures. You will have opportunity to work with this team as well as WBRH partner, ORE Catapult, and the nationally funded SUPERGEN Wind programme. Expertise in composite materials and/or composite manufacturing is essential. Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of wind turbines and renewable energies.

You will have a first degree in an Engineering based discipline and be expected to hold a PhD (or have submitted) in the field of composite materials and/or composite manufacturing. Under exceptional circumstances, we will consider applicants with significant industrial experience with composite material and/or composite manufacturing process development.

This post is being offered on a full time, open ended with funding for up to two years in the first instance, with the possibility of an extension.
