    The Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences is one of five faculties at the University of Adelaide. Comprised of five schools and a number of disciplines, research centres and institutes, the faculty is focused on education excellence and innovative research in the health sciences.  Programs taught out of the faculty train medical practitioners: surgeons, dentists, nurses and psychologists and other health professionals. The faculty boasts one of the largest concentrations of leading researchers, academic teachers and clinical titleholders working across the areas of health.

    The Adelaide Health Simulation and Skills Centre (AHSSC) is one of the most high-tech healthcare teaching facilities in the Southern Hemisphere. We address the current and future inter-professional learning needs of health and related workforces to improve patient care. Based in brand new facilities in the South Australian Health and Biomedical Precinct, our state of the art facilities boast the latest in audio visual, simulation and teaching technologies, while recognising the basic needs of future health professionals.

    This role contributes to curriculum development, preparation and delivery of teaching, as well as the administration and coordination of teaching requirements and staffing across simulation based education.

    Salary: (Level A) $65,894 - $89,425 or (Level B) $94,135 - $111,788 per annum*.

    *Academic level will be determined based upon successful candidate's level of experience and qualifications.

    Superannuation: An employer contribution of 9.5% applies.

    Term of position: This fixed-term contract is available immediately until 31 December 2017

     

    Position requirements

    To be successful you should have:

    • Demonstrated experience in healthcare and current registration with AHPRA or equivalent.

    • An interest in interprofessional learning and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.

    • High level communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.

    • Ability to actively motivate others to maintain a safe learning environment that encourages continuous quality improvement.

    • Demonstrated skills and expertise in the preparation and delivery of teaching sessions (in particular practical skills or simulation based education) and to be committed to excellence in teaching.

    • Ability to coordinate and manage a small team to deliver high quality outcomes, as demonstrated by communicating teaching requirements to relevant staff ahead of time, contacting and informing the tutors, and overseeing the preparation and delivery of teaching.
