Job Details
The Department of Community Health Sciences (CHS) is the leading unit of its type in Pakistan, recognized regionally and internationally for the relevance, quality and extent of its work in support of public health and the development of primary health care systems. It comprises of four major operational units: Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Health systems, Population and Reproductive health and Environmental health sciences.
The Department of CHS is conducting a study entitled “Primary Care Strategies to reduce High Blood Pressure” – A Cluster Randomized Trial in District Thatta, Rural Pakistan, in selected Union Councils. The study aims to reduce high blood pressure among adult population and to improve cardiovascular health in high risk groups. This will be achieved through trainings of the lady health workers, public & private health care providers in standard hypertension management guidelines and healthy lifestyle counseling.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- entering research data and assisting in data cleaning
- assisting in data compilation and typing of reports
- verifying and correcting data as required
- taking proper care of questionnaires/datasheets and ensuring safe-keeping/storage.
Requirements
You should have:
- a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in medical technology
- minimum one year of relevant experience
- good knowledge of community areas and facilities
- ability to understand basics of research project
- good interpersonal skills and communication skills both verbal and written English and Urdu; command over Sindhi language, will be an added advantage
- ability to document project activities and work in a team.
