The Information Services team (approximately 20 staff) is responsible for supporting and maintaining the fleet of machines (3,000+) used by Faculty staff and in lab environments.  We cover a wide range of hardware (PC, Mac and Specialised), O/S (XP through to Windows 10, MacOS, RedHat and Debian based Linux), desktop & peripherals and software consumed by Faculty end users.

As one of two Team Leaders in Information Services, you’ll manage a User Support Services Team which is responsible for a range of activities including;

  • Technical support for the Faculty’s workstations, printers and mobile device environments and other IT equipment, software and tools;
  • Local IT asset management, liaising with IT and Finance Procurement to support the selection, procurement, replacement and new installation of equipment and services;
  • End user IT support to enable the varied and specialised teaching, research and operational activities of Academics, Technicians and Professionals.

 

We’re looking for a customer service-oriented Team Leader who is comfortable working in a demanding, high-volume and highly diverse IT environment and can bring to the team:

  • Strong leadership and operational management capability;
  • Technical expertise particularly related to desktop components and tools;
  • Prior experience providing IT support services in a large and complex organisation;
  • In depth knowledge and experience providing IT support within a Microsoft Windows/Macintosh/Unix desktop and server environment;
  • A strong customer service focus;
  • Ability to champion and lead IT service process change in a complex environment;
  • An IT related professional qualification, and a strong understanding of ITIL methodology.
