Untangling microphysical impacts on shallow convective clouds
 

The cloud-modelling group at the Faculty of Physics, University of Warsaw invites applications for a full-time post-doctoral position. The post holder is expected to join our team for 24 months starting on 1 October 2017.

The successful candidate will join our team working on a novel open-science-compliant software suite for research on aerosol-cloud interactions.

The candidates have to conform to the conditions stated in art. 109 of Higher Education Law dated 27.07.2005. (uniform text: Journal of Laws of the Republic of Poland 2016, item 1842 with further amendments).
 
We are seeking a candidate with background in computational atmospheric science and cloud physics. Interdisciplinary experience that would contribute to bridging aerosol/cloud micro/macro physics/chemistry as well as knowledge of Lagrangian methods will be appreciated. Experience in co-operative programming, knowledge of C++ and/or Python, and good knowledge of open standards and tools of applicability in numerical modeling will all constitute additional assets.
The post is based in Warsaw, Poland. A very good command of written and spoken English is essential and the candidate can expect the same from all members of the team. The candidate is required to hold a PhD degree by the date of appointment.

36 days vacations per year

The entire procedure will be concluded before 5 September 2017. The candidate might be asked for an interview with the commission appointed by the Dean of the Faculty.
