A postdoctoral position is available at the Laboratory of Chemical Neuroanatomy, Dept. of Anatomy - ICB-USP, linked to a thematic project that deals with the appearance of immunoreactive neurons to the melanin-concentrating hormone (MCH) exclusively during the lactation period. 


This project will use molecular biology techniques and the main method used will be the RNA silencing followed by maternal behavior analysis through behavioral observation. 
For the development of this project, the postdoctoral fellow will be subsidized with a postdoctoral fellowship provided by the Foundation for Research Support of the State of São Paulo (FAPESP, Thematic Project 2016 / 02224-1, valid from 08/01/2017 to 07/31/2022), with the requirement of full-time dedication. The Fellowship has a monthly amount of US$ 2,150.00 (R$ 6.819,30), with a duration of 24 months. Financial aid equivalent to 15% of the annual value of the scholarship will be granted for expenses directly related to research activities.


Qualities and experience required

A. The interested candidates must have completed their PhD using methodologies of interest and/or of knowledge in the area related to the intended project.
B. Must be independent, be able to interact with the work team and have good communication skills.
C. Have independence in the English language (reading, writing and speaking).
D. The position requires previous experience in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry, knowledge of manipulation of silencing of RNA and siRNA-carrying viruses, as well as neurogenesis. It is also desirable for the Applicant to have the ability to manipulate laboratory animals (primarily rats).
