Job Details
Job Purpose
The role is for a technical manager to establish, develop, maintain and manage an advanced and flexible measurement facility, based on a THz vector network analyser for use both by Birmingham researchers and external users from academia and industry.
Person Specification
- First degree or equivalent in electronic engineering or physical science.
- Experience in the use of microwave, mm-wave or low THz test equipment, including Vector Network Analysers.
- High level capability in understanding of electronic and electromagnetic experimental work.
- Ability to communicate complex information clearly
- Fluency in relevant experimental techniques and methods in high frequency electromagnetics, and ability to contribute to developing new ones
- Ability to assess resource requirements and use resources effectively
- Understanding of and ability to contribute to broader management/administration processes
- Good technical communication skills.
