The University of Bradford is an ambitious world-leading technology university with an exciting portfolio of nursing and healthcare leadership provision. 

Following staff retirement and exciting new programme developments, we are seeking to appoint to several academic posts within the School of Nursing and Healthcare Leadership in the Faculty of Health Studies.  We are seeking a number of enthusiastic people to join a dedicated and innovative team to contribute to our programme provision.  We are proud to be 4th in the Guardian League tables for Nursing & Midwifery with excellent National Student Survey results and are delighted to be recognised as a preferred provider for our leadership and quality improvement programmes across several healthcare providers, including Yorkshire Ambulance Service, specialist providers of dementia care, Leeds City Council and Yorkshire Cancer Research. 

The School of Nursing and Healthcare Leadership have developed a strong portfolio of education provision at pre and post registration, undergraduate and postgraduate levels for nurses, healthcare professionals and related healthcare workers. The School is seeking experienced academics with a track record of programme development, delivery and evaluation, and research activity, or enthusiastic clinicians with ambition to develop an academic career, to deliver across a number of programmes including, pre-registration nursing, physician associate, non-medical prescribing, advanced practice and public health.  Post holders will demonstrate enthusiasm and a willingness to be innovative and creative while making use of development opportunities to improve self and the School. In addition to teaching and learning responsibilities, Lecturers will be expected to participate and possibly lead on research activity related to the research clusters of the faculty, seeking grants and delivering on research targets (dependent on grade). 

School commitments to student recruitment, programme/module leadership and the role of Personal Academic Tutor are included in the role. Post holders will be required to maintain excellent levels of knowledge in their area of speciality, maintaining or working towards gaining local/regional recognition as an expert in their field. There will be an expectation that post holders will demonstrate a passion for our widening participation agenda to enable all students to achieve their potential.

Faculty research activity is locally and internationally significant, undertaken in collaboration with NHS and other partners. Our vibrant research community is housed in the Faculty research clusters. The clusters provide a focus for strategic development and a direction for grant applications and publications. They are led by professors and contain multi-disciplinary teams of researchers and PGR students working on exciting research projects:

  • Equality and diversity

  • Living with dementia

  • Management, quality and safety

  • End of life care

  • Health inequalities

  • Digital Health
