Job Description
The candidate is expected to contribute to the development of a detailed scientific methodology for the analysis, mapping and monitoring of various deposit-layers (crusts, efflorescence etc.) on historic monuments using portable laser spectroscopy systems (Raman, LIBS, etc.) that are employed within the HERACLES project. Additionally the candidate will contribute to the technical development and optimisation of the portable laser spectroscopy systems (data recording and post-processing) with emphasis on the application of these portable instruments within the HERACLES project and their communication with the HERACLES platform. Finally, the candidate will participate in field measurement campaigns within the HERACLES project. This research will be conducted in the context of a highly cross-disciplinary project, HERACLES (http://www.heracles-project.eu), which aims to design, validate and promote responsive systems/ solutions for effective resilience of CH against climate change effects.
