This opportunity as Team Leader for Electrical Contact Systems is to drive innovation in the development of electrical contact and soldering systems. Leading a group of 7 R&D experts, you will be responsible for providing direct management to the team, including co-ordinating with them and assigning projects to team members as well as providing necessary training, help and guidance, meaning you can manage their success and help them to grow and succeed, giving you a concrete sense of satisfaction.

You will be based at the company's R&D center in the Cologne area of Germany which offers easy access to Belgium and Netherlands, excellent transport links to the rest of Germany and one of the most scenic landscapes in Germany, giving you a great quality of life outside work. The company you will be joining are a huge international business group that supply into the building & construction industry and are one of the only companies worldwide that can supply all the materials required to build any residential or commercial property, so they have a massive amount of options to develop within the group.

You will be joining a part of the business group that is responsible for the development and manufacture of glass systems. The company supply into the Automotive & Transport sectors and are one of the biggest players in this market, with an international brand reputation that is unsurpassed in Europe, so it's a great place to be if you want to boost your employment profile because having their name in your employment history will make you a highly desirable candidate for other companies in the industry.

You will have responsibility for 7 people in your team, including 3 PhD Developers, 2 Laboratory Assistants and 2 Development Engineers, so it's quite a multi-functional team with a range of project responsibilites, allowing you manage most problems just using resources from your own team, allowing you to provide quick turnaround on new projects coming round, handing them over to the Sales & Marketing teams on a short-time span.


  • Academic Degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering
  • At least 5 years industry experience in Research & Development
  • Proven management experience leading a team of at least 4 people
  • Technical expertise in developing electronics systems preferred but not essential
  • Fluent English & Minimum B2 Level German
