The appointee should be a committed social science educator who excels in undergraduate teaching, student advising and postgraduate mentoring. He/she should also be a prolific social scientist with an impressive record of publications and successes in obtaining extramural research funding. Aside from teaching foundation courses in global studies, the appointee will actively involve in the development of the Global Studies programme, organizing and participating in activities related to programme promotion, student and staff recruitment and student advising.
Appointment will normally be made on contract basis for 3 years initially commencing January 2018, which, subject to mutual agreement, may lead to longer-term appointment or substantiation later. Outstanding candidates for Professor rank may be specially considered for substantive appointment forthwith.
