Group Leader Biophysics-South East England

Principal Responsibilities:

• Maintain and develop company's biophysics platform;
• Maximise the impact of biophysical methods on company's fragment screening campaigns;
• Line management of scientists from within company's Molecular Sciences Team;
• Promote cross disciplinary interactions.

Requirements:

• Practical experience and/or a good working knowledge of a broad range of biophysical methods including SPR, ITC, MS and NMR;
• Significant experience of using biophysical methods to characterise small molecule (including fragment) binding to proteins;
• The ability to address specific biological questions by developing, formatting and critically interpreting the output from biophysical assays;
• Ability to develop in-silico models for ligand binding to complex, or allosteric, systems;
• Extensive experience of working in a drug discovery environment;
• Proven track record of managing a team of people and/or projects;
• Excellent oral and written presentation skills, including at a strategic level;
• Knowledge of structural biology and its application in a drug discovery setting would be an advantage, but is not essential;
