The Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics (P & T) at the Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI), an NCI-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center in Buffalo, NY is recruiting a faculty at the Associate or full Professor level. RPCI, the nation’s first cancer center founded in 1898, has made fundamental contributions to reducing the cancer burden and has successfully maintained a leadership role in setting national standards for cancer care, research, and education. The mission of the P & T department is to identify and develop novel anti-cancer therapeutics. The department currently consists of 16 faculty studying genetic mechanisms of tumor initiation and progression, biochemical mechanisms of cell death, drug response and steroid hormone receptor actions, cancer stem cells, noncoding RNAs, and epigenetic mechanisms in cancer. For this position, we seek candidates who have demonstrated expertise in: pharmacokinetics (PK), pharmacodynamics (PD) and PK/PD modeling, clinical and translational pharmacogenetics and genomics, pharmacometrics, drug metabolism and transport, and systems pharmacology. A Ph.D., Pharm.D., or M.D. in the pharmaceutical, biomedical, mathematical or chemical sciences is required. A track record of independent peer-reviewed publications and extramural funding is highly desirable. In addition to holding the primary faculty appointment in P & T, the candidate also will lead the institutional Bioanalytics, Metabolomics & Pharmacokinetics (BMPK) Shared Resource.

The successful candidate is expected to develop or continue an energetic, independent and extramurally funded research program, contribute effectively to undergraduate, professional, and graduate instruction, and make satisfactory service contributions. Moreover, the successful candidate is expected to interact extensively with the outstanding faculty in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at University at Buffalo (http://www.pharmaceuticalsciences.buffalo.edu) and be intimately involved in developing the “Center for Cancer Pharmacodynamics & Systems Pharmacology”, a joint initiative under development by RPCI and the University at Buffalo.

Laboratory space will be located in a modern 300,000 square foot Life Sciences Complex, which includes a new Center for Personalized Medicine, with capabilities for state-of-the-art genomic analysis in a CLIA certified laboratory, and the NY State Center for Excellence in Bioinformatics. In this multidisciplinary research environment, the successful candidate will have access to numerous additional core facilities, the opportunity to interact with scientists and clinicians from many programs and departments, and the ability to conduct patient-oriented translational research in collaboration with clinicians. The successful candidate will receive a competitive start-up package and salary commensurate with their experience. The position will remain open until it is filled and candidate screening will start October 2017.

RPCI is an equal opportunity employer. Candidates should e-mail their CV, a brief research statement (3-5 pages), and the names of 3 references to:
