As a Sr Scientist you will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Chemistry Capabilities & Screening (CC&S) is seeking a highly motivated and creative scientist to fill the position of Senior Scientist and join our team of experienced and accomplished colleagues. Situated in the Screening & Compound Profiling (S&CP), the individual will have responsibilities, including:
- Use molecular biology expertise to develop various display screening platforms to support small molecule and peptide discovery efforts
- Collaborate with project teams and chemistry to continue developing and optimizing the screening platforms to enable identification of better differentiation of molecules to increase the quality of drug candidates
- Coordinate the execution of small molecule and peptide hit identification campaigns
- Being an internal champion for display platforms
- Act as liaison on projects and S&CP
- Maintain a strong, external scientific reputation for the S&CP department through publications & presentations
Qualifications
Education:
- PhD and Postdoc in a life sciences discipline (Biochemistry, Molecular Pathology, Chemical Biology etc.) AND/OR B.Sc./M.Sc. with at least five (5) years hands-on experience in display technologies.
Required:
- Demonstrated hands on experience and knowledge in molecular biology
- Experienced in the development and optimization of display screening platforms for small molecule and peptide hits identification
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to execute within a matrixed organization
Preferred:
- Experienced in the development and optimization of display technologies, including but not limited to phage, mRNA, cDNA, ribosome display
- Experience with unnatural amino acid incorporation
- Experience with linker chemistry for cyclization
