The Infectious Disease and Epidemiology Research group, in the Academic Unit of Clinical and Experimental Sciences, wish to appoint a Research Technician to provide day to day technical support and to assist with research and academic activities as necessary. The research group is based within the Faculty of Medicine at Southampton General Hospital.
Our group is undertaking a number of projects looking at the epidemiology of respiratory pathogens. Applications are invited from those with relevant experience of technical laboratory work and microbiology. Experience of DNA sequencing and/or experience of bacterial identification is desirable. Applicants must be available to work with some flexibility.
This post is required to start 2nd October 2017 and is a fixed term contract until 31st July 2018, with the possibility of extension subject to funding. Prospective applicants are encouraged to contact Dr Stuart Clarke (s.c.clarke@soton.ac.uk) for more information.
