Job Details
Your assignments
The position will be part of a research project with the Swiss Federal Office of Energy on "Reducing Swiss household energy demand: Modeling and assessing non-monetary incentives (information and social norms)" starting fall 2017. The project combines conceptual economic understanding of consumer incentives with empirical research on Swiss energy demand – particular in mobility and electricity – and agent based modeling. The position will also be linked to the ongoing research within SCCER CREST, one of the Swiss Competence Centers for Energy Research.
Your profile
Applicants should have earned a master's degree in economics with specialization in microeconomics, behavioral economics, or game theory. Experience in econometric methods is recommended. The project will involve exchange with sociologists, political scientists, and psychologists. Excellent writing and communication skills in English are required; fluent knowledge of German is recommended due to the focus on Swiss energy policy.
We offer you
The salary follows the recommendations of the Swiss National Science Foundation for doctoral students. The position is funded for 3 years. The envisioned project work will form a part of the PhD candidate's thesis.
