The Department of Applied Ecology at North Carolina State University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Quantitative Fisheries Science at the rank of Assistant Professor.  The successful applicant will develop a vigorous, extramurally-funded research program using accepted and innovative ecological and stock assessment models to aid in fisheries monitoring, assessment, and sustainable management.  Areas of specialty can include stock assessment, population dynamics and ecosystem-based fisheries modeling, mathematics, and/or statistics.  The position will be based at the Center for Marine Sciences and Technology in Morehead City, NC to allow for collaborations with fisheries science agencies (e.g., North Carolina Division of Marine Fisheries, National Marine Fisheries Service) and access to wet laboratory and field sites. Primary responsibilities of the position will be focused on research and extension with some teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
