Director, VA Center for Healthcare Organization and Implementation Research (CHOIR)
The Edith Nourse Rogers (ENRM) VA seeks a dynamic leader for its Health Services Research and Development (HSR&D) Center of Innovation (COIN) jointly based at Edith Nourse Rogers VA in Bedford, MA and VA Boston Healthcare System, Boston, MA. The COIN – the Center for Healthcare Organization and Implementation Research (CHOIR) – contains an extensive portfolio (in FY16) of 105 funded research projects and programs, with a total annual budget of $14 million.
Potential candidates will be senior MD investigators with scholarly expertise in health services research and/or one or more of its constituent fields, leadership and administrative experience, and with a strong, proven track-record of obtaining peer-reviewed funding. Candidates should be eligible for academic appointment as a Professor or Associate Professor at Boston University or University of Massachusetts Medical School.
The mission of CHOIR is to conduct health services, organization and implementation research that promotes Veteran-centered high-quality healthcare, identifying best practices and working with operational and policy leaders within VA to implement findings to improve clinical care.
The Bedford Co-Director role includes setting and promoting a vision for conducting research that engages with VA systems and improves care for Veterans. Besides the HSR&D Center , the ENRM VAMC is also home to a Geriatric Research and Education Clinical Center (GRECC), a Mental Illness Research and Education Clinical Center (MIRECC), and a Rehabilitation Research and Development Center focused on community reintegration (SOCRR).
