Job Details
The University of Birmingham wishes to recruit a part-time (0.4 full-time equivalent, e.g. 2 days per week) Research Associate to provide research support for a project utilising semi structured interviews and patient diaries to investigate the patient journey following lumbar spinal fusion surgery.
The post-holder will be responsible to Dr Alison Rushton. The post will be hosted in the School of Sport, Exercise & Rehabilitation Sciences and based at the University’s Edgbaston campus in Birmingham.
Person Specification
Applicants must have a research background in musculoskeletal rehabilitation, particularly with experience of qualitative methods. Prospective candidates are expected to have a PhD in a related area.
The applicant should be highly-motivated, with a strong desire for career development. Excellent communication skills are essential, and a developing profile of high quality research dissemination in high-ranked peer-reviewed journals and scientific conferences is essential. Experience in supervising undergraduate / postgraduate student projects is desired.
