Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in the School of Chinese Medicine (Ref.: 201700907)

Applications are invited for appointments as Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in the School of Chinese Medicine, to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.

Applicants should possess EITHER (i) a recognized Bachelor’s degree of a 5-year Chinese Medicine programme registrable with the Chinese Medicine Council of Hong Kong, (ii) a PhD degree in Chinese Medicine, (iii) a Certificate of Registration for Chinese Medicine Practitioner in Hong Kong, (iv) proven capacity and potential in research, with a track record of high-quality impactful research in the field of Chinese Medicine as indicated by publication record and external grants; and (iv) at least 5 years’ clinical or teaching experience at the undergraduate level in tertiary institution(s), OR (i) a recognized Bachelor’s degree in Chinese herbal medicine or related disciplines, (ii) a PhD degree in Chinese herbal medicine or related disciplines, (iii) proven capacity and potential in research, with a track record of high-quality impactful research in the field of Chinese herbal medicine as indicated by publication record and external grants, and (iv) at least 5 years’ teaching experience at the undergraduate level in tertiary institution(s). They should be proficient in written and spoken English. The appointees are expected to participate in the planning and delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, conduct research, and provide regular clinical services in the School of Chinese Medicine (if they possess a certificate of Registration for Chinese Medicine Practitioner in Hong Kong). 

 

A globally competitive remuneration package commensurate with the appointee’s qualifications and experience will be offered.  At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.  The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary, as well as leave, and medical benefits.  Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
