PLANT FIELD BIOLOGIST AT MIDDLEBURY COLLEGE. The Department of Biology invites applications for a tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor of Biology with a focus in plant field biology, beginning in fall 2018. Applicants should have a Ph.D. and postdoctoral experience or its equivalent as well as demonstrated commitment to excellence in both teaching and research. The successful candidate is expected to be able to teach at the introductory level (ecology and evolution), upper level plant biology, biological statistics and experimental design, and an upper level discipline-specific course. The candidate will also occasionally contribute to Middlebury’s First Year Seminar Program and Winter Term course offerings. The successful candidate is expected to establish an active research program in a supportive, research-active environment. Evidence of enthusiasm for evidence-based pedagogy, mentorin, and advising a diverse population of students is essential.
