Merck strives to become a leader in the discovery and development of Biologic Therapeutics. We are seeking a highly motivated Scientist to perform molecular engineering for the evolution and expression of proteins e.g. antibodies, non-Ig scaffolds, multi-specific protein therapeutics, and target proteins; support the molecular assembly and test binding protein libraries for biologic discovery campaigns by in vitro display technologies; evolve and produce binding proteins for desired biological functions in vitro and in vivo.

Qualifications

Education:

- MS in a life science discipline or BS/BA with a minimum of 2 years' relevant research experience

Required:

- Proficiency in molecular biology and strong hands-on experience in recombinant DNA technologies
- Experience in recombinant protein expression by different host cells, protein purification and analytics
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

Preferred:

- Experience in a protein sciences or biologic discovery core function team
- Biomedical engineering background and programming and operation experience on liquid handling automation systems
- Working knowledge on in vitro biochemical and cellular assays e.g. ELISA/MSD, luciferase reporter assays, etc.
