Participates in scientific projects to support the discovery, development and optimization of Vaccine candidates and products. Performs existing techniques accurately and be able to trouble shoot these techniques. Major activities include development, optimization and validation of multiplexed immunogenicity assays to support regulated vaccine and/or bioanalytical work. Designs and executes experiments for biological and/or vaccine clinical assays to optimize existing technique.

Evaluates new techniques/technologies and equipment. Maintains familiarity with current scientific/technical literature as it applies to one’s current job responsibilities. Maintains accurate records of ongoing projects in adherence with documentation standards.

Applies knowledge of the principles and concepts of bioanalytical and/or Vaccine clinical testing. Applies technical skills to complete assigned work within own group/project team. Works predominantly with established procedures, technologies and methodologies to complete assignments. Recognized as a competent technical contributor.

Accountable for technical contribution to team. Collaborates and communicates within and across the work group. May lead/manage project teams. Makes decisions that require choosing between limited alternatives to resolve problems of moderate complexity. Works in a structured environment under moderate supervision. Maintains accurate records of ongoing projects in adherence with documentation standards.

Participates in designing, conducting, analyzing and reporting the results of laboratory experiments. Monitors ongoing experiments for any unusual occurrences. Maintains familiarity with relevant literature to apply scientific best practices to internal processes and identify opportunities to improve quality of work.

Qualifications

Education:

- BS Degree in Molecular Biology, Immunology, Cell Biology, Biology, Biochemistry or a related Biological Sciences discipline with at least 3 years of related experience OR MS Degree in Molecular Biology, Immunology, Cell Biology, Biology, Biochemistry or a related Biological Sciences discipline.

Required:

- Candidate must be trained in GLP requirements and must have experience working in a regulated laboratory environment.

- Candidate must have experience with Immunology assays such as multiplexed Luminex and/or multiplexed immunoassay platforms.

- Candidate must also have experience executing on formal reagent qualifications and troubleshooting for immunological and molecular assay methods.

Preferred:

- Computer skills including use of data fitting software, electronic laboratory notebooks, LIMS programs and Microsoft Office.
