Duties and responsibilities:

• Design, coordinate and implement creative and innovative teaching and learning programmes.
• Facilitate learning in clinical settings.
• Produce, maintain and facilitate research outputs.
• Teach and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students.
• Take part in professional and academic citizenship.
• Contribute to community engagement and outreach.
• Ensure that quality standards are implemented, monitored and maintained in teaching, learning, research, academic citizenship and community engagement.

 

Inherent requirements:

• Master’s degree in Nursing.
• Registration with South African Nursing Council as a professional nurse (general, psychiatry, community health nurse, midwife and nurse educator). [Please attach proof of registration].
• Proven experience in the presentation of poster or oral presentations at conferences or equivalent activities.
• Demonstrate evidence of manuscripts produced that have the potential to be converted or submitted for publication, ideally in an accredited journal.
• A good academic record.
• Five (5) years’ clinical experience.

 

Required competencies:

• Good communication skills.
• Planning, coordinating and supervising academic activities.
• Analytical and problem solving skills.

 

Recommendations:

• Relevant academic experience in a higher education environment.
• Proficiency in MS Word and other software (PowerPoint and Excel).
• Willing to enrol for a doctoral degree in Nursing at the first available opportunity, if not yet attained by the time of the appointment.

As soon as possible.
