Since 2003, the Aga Khan University - Examination Board (AKU-EB) has played a unique and important role in improving teaching and learning at middle and secondary schools in Pakistan. As Pakistan’s first private examination board, AKU-EB develops exams, based on Pakistan’s national curriculum that rewards critical thinking and problem solving. The Board also works closely with schools to provide training, learning materials and appropriate syllabi that help teachers to move away from rote instructional methods and develop students’ analytical skills. The result is graduates who are better prepared to succeed in intellectually demanding occupations and to make a positive contribution to society. 

 

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager, Operations, the appointee will be responsible to:

  • Provide assistance throughout examination-cycle specifically examination logistics, planning and administrative activities 
  • Provide assistance in information gathering, data entry, data verification, documentation, trainings and report writing   
  • Provide assistance in maintaining updated information regarding practical and theory examination centers in Pakistan
  • Provide assistance in preparing provisional and final timetable for practical and theory examinations
  • Provide assistance in preparing shift schedules for practical examinations and venue wise timetable for theory examinations
  • Provide assistance in dispatch of examination papers and other material to examination centers, examination papers safe keeping and collection activities for theory and practical examinations
  • Provide assistance in recruitment and training of practical examination inspectors and theory examination supervisors and invigilation staff across Pakistan
  • Provide assistance in making necessary arrangements (including special arrangements) at examination centers
  • Provide assistance in maintaining documentation and preparing reports
  • Provide assistance in processing payments for exam-venue temporary staff.

 

Requirements

Candidates should have:

  • at least Bachelor’s degree 
  • at least 2 years of relevant work experience 
  • excellent work knowledge of MS-Office applications; especially MS-Excel
  • good communication and presentation skills in English and Urdu (both oral and written)
  • ability to use information systems
  • ability to work well in teams
  • ability to understand and contribute to AKU-EB’s vision
  • willingness to travel for work related assignments
