Job Details
Job Purpose
We are seeking a high-quality scientist/engineer to create and contribute to the creation of knowledge by undertaking a specified range of activities within the EPSRC funded Quantum-Interference Enhanced Thermoelectrics (QUIET) project.
Person Specification
- A good undergraduate degree in Chemistry (or equivalent) and a PhD in a related area (or equivalent) for appointment at Research Associate level.
- Understanding and/or practical experience in operating an STM, preferably in electrochemical environments
- Practical experience and/or knowledge in performing charge transport and thermoelectric measurements in single- and/or many-molecule junctions
- Experience in molecular samples, their self-assembly on surfaces and in handling carbon materials, such as graphene, in this context
- Experience in electrochemical characterisation of molecules in solution and on surfaces, including but not limited to pulse voltammetry and impedance spectroscopy
- Experience in instrumentation development/electronics or instrumentation control
