- Demonstrated understanding of contemporary learning design theory and practice, as applicable to the higher education context.
- Familiarity and professional curiosity about how online learning is changing educational models and practices.
- Experience in design, development and building of online and multimedia projects, ideally in an online or open online learning environment or similar.
- Experience in design and delivery of learning design, education design and/or design thinking methodologies in an education and/or business setting.
- Experience working within collaborative and cross-functional professional teams, ideally within an educational, learning technologies or education solutions organisation.
- Demonstrated interest in, and/or experience of, design and facilitation of training activities.
- Ability to communicate, engage and negotiate with people at multiple levels, ranging from managers, professional staff and academics, to external stakeholders, partners and public audiences.
- Substantial experience working in the higher education sector or education/education technology sectors.
- Substantial experience in design and development of education products and services for the global education market.

The Division is comprised of five key portfolio areas led by: the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Student Learning); Pro Vice-Chancellor (International); Dean, Indigenous Research and Education Strategy; University Librarian and the Executive Director, Division of the DVC&VP(A).
The Pro Vice-Chancellor (Student Learning) portfolio area provides direction and leadership to ensure the University maintains education excellence and delivers a high-quality learning experience for each student. There is particular focus on quality assurance in learning and teaching and providing academic support for staff and students.
The University of Adelaide works in partnership with edX to develop and deliver a portfolio of world-class Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) and associated products (including credit-eligible open online courses and programs), through the AdelaideX Program. Working within limited direction from the Design Services Lead, and in close collaboration with other AdelaideX team members, the Learning Designer (AdelaideX) provides pedagogical, design and development services that enable academic staff to create courses for the edX environment. The Learning Designer (AdelaideX) forms part of the Design Services work stream, responsible for delivery of end-to-end design support for courses and programs commissioned for the AdelaideX Program. The Learning Designer (AdelaideX) conducts a range of activities in a collaborative style, across training and orientation, advisory services, and hands-on design and development of course materials for open learning.
Salary:
HEO7 ($83,105-$ 93,231) per annum.
Superannuation: An employer contribution of 9.5% applies.
Term of position: This fixed-term contract is available immediately for 6 months.

Qualification/s:
A degree in education, educational technology, instructional design and at least four years’ subsequent relevant experience; or • Extensive experience and expertise in relevant technical fields; or • An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or technical education/training.
