My client is looking for a recent graduate with a scientific background to join their brand new Editorial division. The company is growing so require new talent with some experience in Medical Writing, although full training will be provided.

This is an excellent opportunity to work with an international agency with offices in both the UK and U.S. Due to their size they can offer great career progression internally, with plenty of opportunities to move around. They are opening up a brand new Editorial department, hence this availability, so you can showcase your skills in a new environment and be part of setting in place the culture of tomorrow.

What is Medical Writing?

A Medical Writer is responsible for complex written documents, editorial account management, client relations, communications strategy and editorial team management.

A Medical Writer's responsibilities will include:

  • Senior‐level writing, strategic and creative skills
  • Superior knowledge/expertise of good publication practice, and the principles and practices of medical communications
  • Ability to successfully manage client-consultant relationships
  • Broad knowledge of therapy areas, including established professional relationships with a network of opinion leaders
  • Develop accurate and timely reports from a variety of scientific discussions
  • Train and provide feedback to other writers in a one‐to‐one situation
  • Contribute and adhere to the practice group's business strategy
  • Ensure full understanding of the scientific aspects of programmes by self and team members as necessary
  • Develop a good understanding of the editorial aspects of public relations and discuss importance with client if required

What do I need to apply?

  • ESSENTIAL: 6 months within a Medical Communications agency
  • Confident and personable
  • Open personality
  • Experience working closely with clients
  • Scientific background
  • Life Science degree (at any level)
