Purpose
The Social Media Specialist is responsible for helping drive major social media initiatives through writing, posting, analytics, research and consulting to optimize PerkinElmer's social media strategy. This role will require strong writing and analytical skills and a profound knowledge of social media channels and best practices. This position will liaise with multiple stakeholders and colleagues to implement our program while ensuring the global channels are following corporate social media guidelines and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the end-to-end content journey in our corporate social media channels. This includes: posting, promoting and targeting content
  • Interact and collaborate with fellow employees in a positive, proactive, and productive manner to create target audiences, provide counsel on content promotion, edit content for brand voice in social, and help write content when needed
    • Work with legal and regulatory teams when necessary to ensure content is compliant
    • Develop and refine content submission policies
    • Reconcile ads accounts each month
    • Support new initiatives, such as quizzes, polls, campaigns, A/B testing
  • Work closely with Global Social Media Strategy Manager and other stakeholders on global social media projects and initiatives
  • Monitor and respond to engagement on all corporate social media channels
  • Optimize our use of social media tools
  • Create and present monthly analytics on social channels
    • Collaborate with marketing operations team to enhance metrics reporting and tracking
    • Collaborate with regional teams to monitor and standardize local channel metrics
  • Stay abreast of industry updates and keep global teams informed
  • Assist Global Social Media Strategy Manager in researching potential of expanding PerkinElmer presence to new social channels
  • Train marcom on proper processes, procedures, best practices around social content
  • Work with the team to monitor conversations happening around strategic growth areas and direct issues and opportunities to appropriate stakeholders
  • Research content in the news through our listening tool to find timely and relevant curated content that aligns with our social media content strategy
  • Attend 1to 2 social media conferences per year to keep skills current and learn ever evolving best practices
