At the Department of German Linguistics and Literary Studies of the Department of Linguistics and Literary Studies at the University of Basel (German Seminar) a 60% position as a scientific assistant in the Department of German Linguistics (Professur Luginbühl) is to be filled on 1 February 2018. The post is for scientific further qualification and is limited in time (1 + 3 years for a doctorate, 2 + 4 years for a habilitation).

The post is used for further qualification in one of the following areas: media linguistics, text linguistics, cultural linguistics


Responsibilities

  • Scientific further qualification (dissertation or habilitation)
  • 2 semester weeks Teaching in the basic studies of German and / or general linguistics
  • administrative tasks
  • Study counseling in matters of linguistics


Person specification

(Very) good, linguistically oriented degree (MA) in the field of Germanic (possibly interdisciplinary) linguistics (applications with a habilitation project are only possible with a doctorate)
Independence, self-initiative, teamwork, commitment to the general interests of the team of the professorship and the linguistic department
Willingness to be present in Basel during the semester on at least three full days
