The School of Psychology is one of the most prestigious schools of psychology in Australia, and its strong reputation is built on excellence in both research and teaching. The role
The successful applicant will conduct research on social cognitive ageing, using eye-tracking, facial electromyography, and hormonal assessments, in collaboration with Professor Julie Henry. The role will include literature reviews, research design, management of ethics applications and approvals, data analysis and interpretation, and preparation of manuscripts and reports. The appointee will supervise or co-supervise research students in relevant areas, and apply for both independent and collaborative funding relevant to the research focus. The position is available from September 2017.
The person
Applicants should have a PhD (completed or submitted) in Psychology, and have the ability to develop, organise, complete and publish research outcomes in high quality outlets with demonstrated awareness of current international research trends. The appointee will have demonstrated experience with the assessment of older adults on social cognitive function, facial electromyography, eye-tracking and clinical drug trials; a demonstrated interest in age-related oral health issues, and capacity to contribute to research publications and the presentation of findings.

Remuneration
This position is full-time, fixed term appointments for two years at Academic level B. The remuneration package will be in the range $92,142 - $109,419 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range of up to $107,807 - $128,020 p.a.).
