The Department currently has a vacancy for a Lectureship in Electrical Engineering to complement the electrical power activities of the Electrical Energy Management Group. The post will support the teaching of our new degree course in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.

Applicants with expertise in the theoretical and practical aspects of power electronic enabled energy conversion are sought. Experience in the engineering application of wide bandgap power semiconductors, thermal management or reliability of power electronic converters/electrical drives is desired. Successful applicants will have a proven track record in research and will be able to show the potential for international recognition, combined with a commitment to high quality teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Bristol is consistently ranked as one of the top places in the UK for Teaching and Research in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. Much of the Department's research is interdisciplinary, working with colleagues in the Engineering Faculty and in Applied Sciences. The Department runs undergraduate programmes in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Computer Science and Electronics and as of September 2017 Mechanical and Electrical Engineering with a high quality student intake (entry grades are AAA at UK A-level), as well as several advanced MSc programmes. Our focus is on providing a high quality and innovative learning in a research environment.

Please include with your CV and covering letter two one page statements one on the contributions that you can make to teaching in the Department, especially in respect of innovation in delivery and content.
