Job Purpose
We are looking for a highly motivated individual to study potential novel cell surface receptor-ligand interactions involved in platelet biology and atherothrombosis. The successful candidate should have strong working knowledge of cell-surface receptor biology. Expertise in different in vitro and in vivo platelet and atherothrombosis functional assays is essential. Experienced in a wide-range of protein biophysical and biochemical protein-protein interaction techniques (e.g. Biacore, AlphaScreen, Flow Cytometry, Immunofluorescence-based cell imaging, co-IPs, cDNA expression cloning). He/she must have excellent academic qualifications, strong initiative and good teamwork skills. Previous experience of working as part of a collaborative team is desirable.
Person Specification
PhD in a life science subject
The appointed individual must have three years of experience of working with platelets, myeloid cells and mouse models. The individual should have a home office personal licence (or equivalent). They should have experience in flow cytometry, histology and molecular imaging.
