The Division of Academic and Student Engagement drives the achievement of the University's strategic goals in relation to learning and teaching. This includes ensuring that students have a quality experience and investing in the ongoing professional development of academic staff.

The division is comprised of four key portfolio areas led by: the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Student Learning); Pro Vice-Chancellor (International); Dean, Indigenous Research and Education Strategy; and the Executive Director, Division of Academic and Student Engagement

The Executive Director, Division of Academic and Student Engagement portfolio area is responsible for overall strategic management of the division. It provides leadership and direction to functional areas such as Student Services and Administration, Planning and Performance Reporting, Future Students, and Professional and Continuing Education.

This role of Student Services Officer working under general direction provides services to students, staff and visitors as the first point of contact in open contemporary working environments. Through a 'one stop, one step' approach to service, the Student Services Officer provides information and advice; troubleshoots, advises on technology, and assists students. This position also acts as a referral service for specialised advice if information is required and is not accessible on-line. Service channels you will work with include; face to face, phone, email, chat, and social media platforms.

The position will be rostered to work at Ask Adelaide Service areas including North Terrace Campus, Waite Campus and the Adelaide Health and Medical School. Staff are rostered between 8.00am to 6.00pm Monday to Fridayn

Superannuation: An employer contribution of 17% may apply.

Term of position: We have five positions available all to begin immediately: two full-time continuing roles; one part-time continuing role; one full-time 12 month fixed term role; and one part-time role to September 2018.

 

Position requirements

To be successful you should have:

  • Demonstrated experience and commitment in delivering customer centred service in a shared service model.

  • Demonstrated ability to learn new systems and adopt new technologies.

  • Demonstrated experience in a high volume shared service structure.

  • Demonstrated experience in multiple services channels including front and back of house roles.

  • The ability to work effectively across Omni-service channels to match demands of the student lifecycle.

  • Working knowledge of relevant University systems such as P/Soft Student Admin would be an advantage.

  • Proven keyboard skills and demonstrated familiarity with standard office applications.
