The Role
This is a new and exciting role at the heart of higher education policy and politics. A unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the future of the university sector, influence policy and develop relationships with university leaders and key influencers.
Working closely with the UUK’s CEO and senior management team to deliver the vision and mission of UUK, supporting the membership and promoting UK Higher Education.
Providing politically savvy, strategic advice to the CEO; managing the CEO’s office; and working with staff across the organisation on priority projects to further UUK’s impact and influence.
The Candidate
You will have experience of working in the higher education sector, with exceptionally strong communication and analytical skills. You will be politically astute with the ability to horizon scan, rapidly assimilate complex information and anticipate what advice or action may be required.
You will need the ability to remain professional in a fast-paced environment and be adaptable to change. You will have strong strategic understanding of the national political environment and issues that have an impact on universities. Possessing gravitas, diplomacy and tact you will be able to build excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders at a senior level.
