Academic positions in Cardiovascular Science and Neuroscience

 

School of Physiology, Pharmacology & Neuroscience, University of Bristol

The School of Physiology, Pharmacology & Neuroscience wishes to appoint two outstanding individuals, one in each of the Cardiovascular Science and Neuroscience disciplines, at Lecturer/Senior lecturer level(s). The successful applicants will join a vibrant School and complement our current research strengths, which range from molecular and cellular studies through to clinical investigations.   They will develop creative and sustainable independent research programmes, supported by external funding. 

 

We welcome applications from those in established positions, as well as research fellows and senior postdoctoral researchers who have established independent profiles. You will also contribute to our undergraduate teaching and flagship postgraduate training programmes.

The positions will be based in the Biomedical Sciences Building with access to imaging, proteomics, genomics core facilities; access to large and small animal in vivo laboratories; and human studies facilities.  There are current PhD training programmes funded by the BBSRC, MRC, Wellcome Trust and BHF, with many linked to other Schools in the university and beyond.  Successful applicants will also join larger research communities within the university and associated NHS Trusts, namely Bristol CardioVascular and Bristol Neuroscience.  The University of Bristol is ranked among the top five UK institutions for research excellence (http://www.bristol.ac.uk/research/).
