Microfluidic platelet analysis
Applications are invited for a Researcher position to work on a MRC-funded project on the development and application of microfluidic platelet analysis methods. You will join an interdisciplinary single cell microfluidics research team, and benefit from state-of-the-art facilities in the Faculty of Medicine and the Centre for Hybrid Biodevices at the University of Southampton, UK. You will develop new high throughput methods for platelet analysis and extend this to investigate platelet functional heterogeneity, with both activities concluding in publications.
You will have a PhD* or equivalent professional qualifications and experience in one or more of droplet microfluidics, platelet biology, statistics and flow cytometry with expertise in Platelet Biology Droplet Microfluidics.. You will have a track record of presenting research at international conferences, a drive to publish high quality research and a strong interest in and aptitude for collaborative, interdisciplinary biomedical research.
*Applications for Research Fellow positions will be considered from candidates who are working towards or nearing completion of a relevant PhD qualification. The title of Research Fellow will be applied upon successful completion of the PhD. Prior to the qualification being awarded the title of Senior Research Assistant will be given.
The post is funded for 12 months starting from autumn 2017.
