Microfluidic Processors

Applications are invited for a Researcher to work on a MRC-funded project on the development and application of microfluidic platforms for cell and molecular analytics. You will join an interdisciplinary microfluidics research team, and benefit from state-of-the-art facilities in the Centre for Hybrid Biodevices at the University of Southampton, UK. You will develop new microfluidic sample preparation techniques based on inertial microfluidic principles, and also integrate these within an optofluidic platform. It is expected that both activities will conclude in publications.

You will have a PhD* or equivalent professional qualifications and experience in one or more of microfabrication, waveguides and photonics, inertial microfluidics and bioanalysis methods with expertise in Inertial Microfluidics and Microfabrication of Waveguides. You will have a track record of presenting research, a proven ability to publish high quality research and a strong interest in and aptitude for collaborative, interdisciplinary microfluidics research within the context of biomedical application themes.

* for Research Fellow positions will be considered from candidates who are working towards or nearing completion of a relevant PhD qualification.  The title of Research Fellow will be applied upon successful completion of the PhD.  Prior to the qualification being awarded the title of Senior Research Assistant will be given.

The post is funded for 15 months starting from autumn 2017.
