The School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences has a longstanding reputation for providing allied health services in its work-integrated learning environment, the UQ Health and Rehabilitation Clinics (Clinics). The Clinics offer adult and Paediatric Audiology, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Speech Pathology services.
Located on the University of Queensland’s St. Lucia campus you will work in a highly stimulating environment with an international reputation for innovative approaches to teaching, clinical and research excellence.
This role will provide the opportunity to develop and implement systems and processes to support high quality clinical education and services in a thriving and transforming organisation.
The Role
This position manages the day to day operations of the services and functions required to run the Speech Pathology Clinic. The position will be responsible to identify, pursue and establish opportunities to enable continuous growth and enhance student learning. The position requires the ability to balance client needs with academic/teaching and business needs.
The position supervises clinical educator positions, has a close working relationship with the academic staff, and is part of a larger clinical team of over forty- five allied health practitioners.
The position participates in clinical education, supervision and practice. The appointee will have currency of clinical practice and demonstrate management experience.
The Person
Applicants must possess a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Speech Pathology with extensive relevant experience in clinical practice and management. Applicants must possess a current Speech Pathology Australia Certificate of Practice, a valid driver’s license and valid Blue Card and be eligible for a Medicare provider number.
Applicants should have experience to demonstrate readiness as a practitioner, educator and manager within our large multi-disciplinary facility. The ideal applicant will have developed exceptional clinical skills, experience in service development clinical education, workforce planning, financial and human resource management, outstanding interpersonal and organisational abilities, and possess a proven ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively.
Remuneration
The position is a 3-year fixed term appointment at HEW Level 8 (starting salary commensurate with qualifications and experience). The FTE remuneration package will be in the range of $92,811 to $104,214 p.a.; including employer superannuation contributions of 17% (total package will be in the range of $108,589 to $121,930 p.a.).
